Digital Headshot (one person) : $180*

  • This service is designed for people who need a straightforward image for their website, social media, or a printed publication.

  • For this portrait, you are invited to sit in the Green Chair in my studio in Montpelier.

  • This includes post-processing/ reformatting for up to 5 images. Any additional editing is $50 per hour, minimum 1 hour.

There comes a time when someone asks if we have a good photo of us...and we realize that all of the photos we have are soooo last year. If you need a straightforward (i.e. not too artsy or conceptual, where you can actually see what your face looks like) portrait, but you want to avoid the cheeseball corporate headshot-- you’ve come to the right place. Who knew green velvet would be so flattering? Come to my studio and see for yourself.

Portrait Session (one person, your location, digital & film option): $350*

  • This includes post-processing/reformatting for up to 5 images. Any additional editing is $50 per hour, minimum 1 hour.

  • Film optional. (See below service descriptions for a note on using film.)

Why film? I have always loved working with analog cameras and seeing the unique images they produce. I work with a Hasselblad- one of the best cameras out there- which contributes to a special, timeless portrait experience and can raise the bar of quality across the board. We can also go a very different direction, using a plastic camera (see Surreal World) or 35mm, to make something more like a series of film stills. Expect a 3 week turnaround time for film processing and editing, and an additional fee of $200-$300 for materials and artist time.

Some things to think about while preparing for the portrait session:

-What will you be using the image for? Is it for yourself, your website, your loved ones?

-What would you like to wear? You can choose multiple outfits for the shoot.

-Where would you like to take these pictures?

-What emotion or persona are you aiming to communicate?

-Do you have other images (either of yourself or others) that you like or feel inspired by? Please share these with me ahead of time so I can get a sense of what you are thinking.

-Are there any visual aspects of yourself that you would like to emphasize or de-emphasize?

-If you are having trouble coming up with specifics, I recommend making a mood-board or list of objects, colors, places, and things that you enjoy and are integral to your sense of identity. This type of associative exploration can get the creative gears moving in both of us, leading to a much more interesting portrait.
